Arjuna Khan (Fabric) a écrit :
Really, the Beast is a great RPG. It's not perfect and there are few things which seem to be a bit strange. However it's a great game because it suggest something big and something important in gamedesign rpg tabletop. It thinks about why other players are important in a game and how could simulate that and create good feelings for the player. Not in using script like video game do, no it's not the point. Generally, rpg tabletop propose to use imagination of two or more players in order to create good feelings and the Beast thinks that we can create a good story, a stimulating story with imagination of just one player.
It's brillant and most of time this game succeed in this process. Why ? Because questions are marked with intimate and sensation. And these component are a part of personnality which is not very often express by people. So, in my opinion, the Beast isn't a game for one player but for two player : the player himself and his/her subconscient.
I regret that game offer not enough structure for build tension like acts in theater or chapters in novel. And if there was one mistake in this game, it's exactly the same that in "the quiet year". The end of "the beast" or "the quiet year" is a script and unfortunately these games create too much waiting and inevitably our waiting is not satisfy.
